Trial Installation

  • MVS Solutions Inc. offers a full product trial of ThruPut Manager to companies who wish to evaluate the capabilities of ThruPut Manager in their z/OS environments.  In addition, we also provide the 'QUICKSTART Program'  which enables the trial to quickly realize the benefits of ThruPut Manager.
    • QuickStart Program
      The QuickStart program is available to help product evaluators begin a successful ThruPut Manager trial as quickly as possible. MVS Solutions knows its customers invest a good deal of effort in planning, conducting and evaluating a product like ThruPut Manager and understand that the best way to prove its capabilities is to deal with the real challenges they face. 

      Before the QuickStart begins, MVS Solutions staff consults the customer to help define the trial objectives and prepare for the implementation.  Then a ThruPut Manager expert visits the customer site for a one-and-a-half to two-day session, to guide the customer staff through a startup implementation of ThruPut Manager designed to meet the initial trial objectives. Once this is achieved, customer staff can build on the implementation to complete the trial.

  • MVS Solutions Inc. support staff has a reputation for its technical expertise in both the development and support areas. We are committed to providing our customers with premium products and support by providing a variety of maintenance and support offerings to help you get the most for your investment dollar.
    • Customer Center
      The Customer Center is a web-based online 24 hour technical information and support service provided to help customers get maximum benefit from ThruPut Manager. Among the facilities is the Problem Lookup Facility from which users can electronically access corrections and circumventions from our Problem Database.
    • Business Hour Support
      Our support staff prides itself in providing prompt and knowledgeable resolutions to your support requests. Support personnel are available to handle your support needs by email or telephone from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
    • Emergency Support
      Round-the-clock access to MVS Solutions support personnel is available for critical problem resolution.  
    • Operating System Currency
      ThruPut Manager maintains timely currency/toleration of OS operating systems.  As 'Partners in Development' with IBM and participants in their Early Support Program, we are able to ensure our products function correctly in tandem with MVS/JES2 GA releases.    
    • Basic Maintenance
      Basic Maintenance includes all cumulative and preventative maintenance, enhancements to existing components, and revised documentation.  In addition, customer suggestions are considered for software or documentation enhancement.  In addition, IBM’s SystemPac option is available for ThruPut Manager software delivery. 
    • Online Documentation
      This service allows customers access to a complete set of current ThruPut Manager documentation,  24 hours a day.
    • TM-Notify
      TM-Notify is an email-based communication vehicle used to provide product based critical updates and announcements from MVS Solutions directly to the customer.
    • TM-Discuss
      TM-Discuss is an electronic Discussion Forum intended to give customers the ability to share knowledge with other ThruPut Manager customers.

    • Web Training Sessions
      The Web Training Sessions are a convenient way to get updated on a single topic of interest to our customers. We use 'net meeting' software to host our seminars. All you need is an internet session on a reasonably current machine, a phone (to dial an 800 number) and an interest in learning more about ThruPut Manager. The accompanying information link gives a short description of each session and who it is suitable for.

      MVS Solutions Inc. offers instructor-led ThruPut Manager courses that are highly interactive, using real time z/OS demonstrations and exercises that focus on the key functions of ThruPut Manager. This method assists students in gaining the necessary knowledge and confidence to make the most effective use of ThruPut Manager.

    • ThruPut Manager Operator Course
      A ThruPut Manager Operator Course is available from Trainframe, as part of their operator training series.  It provides a hands-on approach using ThruPut Manager in a simulated OS/390 operating environment. This time-saving course will train your operations staff to recognize and handle situations using the major ThruPut Manager components.

    Implementation Services

  • Implementation Tune-Up

  • MVS Solutions Inc. offers a Tune-Up Service. A ThruPut Manager expert reviews the current usage and specifications and presents a written action plan.  The action plan can include a site visit, specification rework, customized training and other strategies to ensure you are getting the most from your ThruPut Manager implementation.

    This service is beneficial to customers who have had staff turnovers, workload mergers or are planning to deploy ThruPut Manager in additional areas.

    User Groups

  • Regional User Groups

  • The ThruPut Manager User Groups provide a direct communication vehicle between the ThruPut Manager user community and MVS Solutions.  Technical tips, product updates, current and upcoming product enhancements for the user community and sharing innovative uses of the product are the main focus for these events.  Any licensed ThruPut Manager customer can find more details in the User Forums section of the Customer Center or register for an upcoming User Group session from the Upcoming Events .
